Representatives from “Safer Homes, Suicide Aware” will be at the event informing guests how to make their home safer and prevent a suicide long before a crisis occurs.

Medication locking devices as well as firearm locking devices will be distributed for free.

“Safer Homes” signifies a home in which lethal means are unavailable to a suicidal individual. “Suicide Aware” signifies the universal need to educate people about suicide prevention and action steps everyone can take today.

Putting a practical barrier between a suicidal person and the means they plan to use to end their life can interrupt their path to suicide.

Safer Homes at Republic Gun Show

Representatives from “Safer Homes, Suicide Aware” will be at the Falcon Gun Show in Republic WA informing guests how to make their home safer and prevent a suicide long before a crisis occurs.

Safer Homes at the Vancouver Gun Show: Dec. 15-16

Safer Homes, Suicide Aware is making an appearance at Big Top Promotion’s Vancouver Gun Show. This outreach is historic, as half of all suicides are carried out by firearm. Gun shows, a gathering space for many in the firearms community, are the ideal place to have a life-saving conversation about suicide prevention.  Locking devices for both firearms and medications will be provided to attendees at no cost by Safer Homes.

Safer Homes, Suicide Aware is making an appearance at the state’s largest and longest-running gun show, run by Washington Arms Collectors. This outreach is historic, as half of all suicides are carried out by firearm. Gun shows, a gathering space for many in the firearms community, are the ideal place to have a life-saving conversation about suicide prevention.  Locking devices for both firearms and medications will be provided to attendees at no cost by Safer Homes.

Big Top Everett Gun Show – July 28-29

Safer Homes, Suicide Aware will be tabling at the Big Top Everett Gun Show Saturday, July 28 and Sunday, July 29 distributing medication and firearm locking devices, as well as engaging in brief interventions with attendees around suicide means safety and how to make our homes safer for those at risk for suicide or accidental injury or death.
